Upload files in the web app

You need: a vendor login. An admin creates it and gives you a temporary password; you must change it at first sign-in.

Open the web app and sign in. A vendor sees My projects and Activity. Open a project, then click a folder. The address bar always shows where you are (/projects/5/folders/9), so you can bookmark a folder or share the link with a colleague of the same vendor.

If the folder does not exist yet, create the project and folder first. Each has a code (3-30 characters: lowercase letters, digits, single underscores). Codes cannot be changed later, because they become part of the table name.

Drag files onto the drop zone, or click it to choose. Files are sent one at a time with a progress bar. Allowed: any file except programs (exe, dll, bat, cmd, com, msi, scr, ps1, vbs, jar, sh). Empty files are refused. The size limit is shown on the page (500 MB by default).

Each file shows a status and four pills:

Pill Meaning
Received The file is safely stored
Bronze Written exactly as received
Silver Cleaned and typed
Gold Merged into the folder’s distinct set

The page refreshes by itself every few seconds while any file is waiting or processing. The line under the file name says what happened: row counts on success, the reason on failure.

Status What to do
uploaded / processing Wait. Processing is one file at a time.
processed Done. The data is in the lake.
failed Read the message (often a column mismatch or a malformed row), fix the file and upload it again.
quarantined The type is stored but cannot be read yet (for example Excel). Nothing is lost.

Each file has actions:

  • Archive: takes its rows out of the lake but keeps the original. Restore processes it again.
  • Process again: reruns the file (also offered when a file seems stuck in Processing).
  • Delete for good (admin only): removes the rows and the original. You must type the file name to confirm. The history row stays.

Activity lists every event newest-first, one line each, with filters for project, folder and “only problems”. Click a file name to see its journey with the time between steps.

Use the Push API. The Automate button on a folder opens ready-made curl, Python and PowerShell commands filled in with your codes.
